Rodney Johnson
A native of Dallas, Texas Rodney always had natural talent for art and design. Growing up he was so obsessed with cartoon characters that decided to undergo thousands of dollars in debt to get his B.F.A. in Media Arts & Animation at the Art Institute of Atlanta. He thrived learning how to not only design characters but also give them fluid animation and fun personality. Once Rodney graduated from the Art Institute he discovered motion graphics and decided to combine it with his animation background by studying at SCAD Atlanta getting his M.F.A. in Motion Media Design in 2017. While in grad school Rodney began an internship at a production company called Tube Creative in 2013 and eventually became one of the lead motion designers until 2018. While at Tube he had the privilege to work with clients such as HGTV, UPS, ESPN, Equifax and more. Today Rodney continues to enjoy motion design, while also growing in other areas such as editorial, cinematography and color grading as well. He also taught video editing and motion graphics at The Creative Circus in Atlanta, where he enjoys using terrible phrases such as “Changing the world one keyframe at a time,” and “Paying off student loan debt with the power of After Effects.” Currently he recently moved back to Texas in 2020 to continue his career and because the internet is a beautiful thing that allows professionals to work remotely!
